This is reported by espreso.tv

It is noted that this is the first suspicion of such a rank for a russian official. According to the minister, Nikolai Mulyukin personally visited the Chernobyl nuclear power plant during the occupation and led the robbery of the nuclear power plant.

"His "specialists" did not know what to do with the plant during decommissioning. Therefore, they simply looted the property. The russian military carried out the orders of the Rosatom people at the Chernobyl NPP, holding the station's employees and the National Guard who defended it hostage," the statement said.

In return, Ukraine identified more than 100 russians who took part in the seizure and looting of the Chernobyl NPP. Among them are employees of Rosatom, russian journalists, and military personnel — four generals and three colonels of the Russian Armed Forces.

The Prosecutor General's Office specified that the suspect was on the territory of the Chernobyl NPP from February 24 to March 31, 2022, during the seizure of the station by representatives of the russian federation.

According to the National Police, Rosatom employees took a unique radiological laboratory, ionizing radiation sources, almost 700 computers, 344 service vehicles, and even radiation dosimeters from the Chornobyl NPP. The damages are estimated at UAH 1.038 billion.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.

  • President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, which occurred on April 26, 1986, recalled the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.
