Explosions have been heard again at the russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The occupiers claim that a drone tried to attack the plant

This was reported by espreso.tv

The IAEA team on the scene was told that the drone had been "neutralized" without giving further details. The attack took place in the morning, around 10:35. Then the agency's representatives heard an explosion.

However, the group of experts was not allowed to enter the training center, which was allegedly hit by the drone, citing potential security risks.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said there was no damage or injuries. He also said that "whoever was behind" the explosions at the plant ignored the calls of the international community to prevent a nuclear accident.

  • On April 7, International Atomic Energy Agency Director General, Rafael Grossi, said there were 3 direct hits to the protective structures of the main reactor of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The russians accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the shelling. The representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, in turn, assured that Ukraine was not involved in "any armed provocations on the territory of the ZNPP illegally occupied by russia". On April 9, EU High Representative Josep Borrell said that the occupation forces should leave the plant.
