It is noted that the communities of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions will receive 52 garbage trucks and 63 units of heavy equipment for clearing debris, namely dump trucks, crawler and wheeled excavators, two types of loaders.

To be transferred:

• 35 garbage trucks and 4 units of heavy machinery with joint funding from the EU and the Government of Japan for 12 communities in Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts;
• 17 garbage trucks, 4 dump trucks and 8 units of equipment for demolition waste management with the support of the Government of Japan for Chernihiv and 5 communities in the region;
• 41 units of heavy equipment with funding from the Government of Japan for the Kherson Regional Municipal Emergency Rescue Service, which will operate in several communities in the region;
• sets of EU-supported equipment for processing demolition waste, in particular sorting and crushing machines, for the Bucha, Chernihiv and Mykolayiv communities;
• 28,000 garbage containers and solid waste processing equipment for Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts, with funding from the EU and the Government of Japan.

"In most communities, especially those that survived the occupation, municipal equipment was destroyed, and the remaining equipment is old and needs to be repaired and replaced. Communities are in vital need of debris removal equipment and garbage trucks to make life comfortable again and allow residents to return home", said Anna Yurchenko, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Reconstruction.

• Earlier, the ministry said that Ukraine plans to use waste from destruction for reconstruction, which is one of the principles of the introduction of a circular economy.
