"Actually, yesterday, during the discussion of several resolutions concerning russia and the overcoming of the russian totalitarian regime, it was mentioned that russia is trying to influence European politics by all means and also to harm European states in order to prevent them from helping Ukraine anymore", the correspondent said after the PACE meeting.
According to her, Germany is now playing a key role for Ukraine, as it leads the coalition that provides air defense systems. This makes Germany a potential target for russian agents:
"The russians will now direct all their efforts to somehow prevent the Germans from helping Ukraine more. The Germans have already promised us Patriot and today they also said that they will provide IRIS-T. That is, now we need to be very friendly with Germany and help them together to fight this threat from russia, both informational and physical in the form of spies and saboteurs".
Vysotskaya also emphasized that the European Parliament promises to continue to help Ukrainian refugees until the war is over.
"I had a conversation with an Estonian MP, she said that our officials, when they come to the Baltic States, talk about whether it is possible to somehow return to Ukraine those men who do not want to fight and flee to Europe because of this. The deputy said that Europe stands so firmly in defense of human rights that such an action will be impossible without the consent of these people, that is, while the status quo remains regarding refugees, if they want to stay in the EU, they will stay there", the correspondent summed up.
