In Germany, there are about 900 thousand former soldiers and former conscripts under the age of 65 who have the status of reservists.
According to Zenzburg, 800 thousand soldiers are needed to be able to defend Germany in an emergency.
"In case of defense, we need reservists to ensure the security of our own country and infrastructure, to provide logistical support to partner countries in Germany and, last but not least, to replace combat troops at the front", the reserve colonel said.
According to him, if Germany is attacked and enters the war, it will have to think about the second and third waves of defense; first of all, it will be reservists.
- In January, Bild said that Germany had prepared a scenario in case Ukraine loses the war. NATO called it an imaginary situation.
