Orban expressed his condolences to Donald Trump over his exclusion from the party primaries in Colorado
He urged Trump to continue the fight, considering it necessary for the world
Viktor Orbán expressed his support for former US President Donald Trump, who was excluded from participating in the party primaries in Colorado by the Supreme Court of the state of Colorado due to his involvement in the storming of the Capitol.
Orban expressed his condolences to Trump on Twitter.
He urged Trump to continue the fight, considering it necessary for the world. The Colorado Supreme Court made an unprecedented decision, banning Trump from the constitutional right to run for president in 2024, upholding the findings of his involvement in the January 6, 2021, uprising.
In so doing, the Colorado Supreme Court upheld the trial judge's findings that the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol was an uprising and that Trump "participated" in the uprising.
Trump's campaign has already announced that it will quickly appeal the decision to the United States Supreme Court, as well as a parallel request to suspend this "deeply undemocratic" decision.
Trump is currently the most popular candidate for the Republican Party's nomination for the 2024 US presidential election. But he is facing several criminal cases at the federal level and in the states of New York and Georgia, two of which relate to his role in the events of January 6, 2021.
