The country's authorities did not provide public information on the circumstances of the heir apparent's death
Crown Prince Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the ruling emir of Kuwait, has died at the age of 86.
This was reported by the Associated Press, citing Kuwaiti state television.
The Minister of the Emir's Court, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sabah, expressed condolences over the death and noted that the cause of his death has not yet been made public.
The crown prince was urgently hospitalized in late November due to an unknown illness, and earlier, in March 2021, he underwent medical examinations in the United States.
He previously served as the Minister of Interior and Defense of Kuwait. The deputy ruler of Kuwait, his half-brother Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is 83 years old, is now considered the world's oldest crown prince and is likely to become the ruler of Kuwait after his brother's death.
