Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi visited the positions of the soldiers in the Eastern sector and discussed the urgent needs of the Ukrainian army with the Commander of the Khortytsia Joint Forces Operation Oleksandr Syrskyi.

This was reported by the press service of the Land Forces Command.

"The Minister presented state awards to the soldiers. The commander of the Khortytsia Joint Forces Operation, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, briefed the Minister and the Commander-in-Chief on the situation in the eastern sector. We also discussed the key needs of Ukrainian soldiers, which are necessary for the effective destruction of the enemy", the statement said.

In addition, the military leadership discussed the training of recruits and the strengthening of fortifications along the entire contact line.

"We are working to increase the supply of weapons to the frontline, launching production, expanding the possibilities of purchasing UAVs (both reconnaissance and strike), and we are in daily contact with our partners", Umerov said.

As a reminder, rumours have recently been circulating on social media and in the media about an alleged conflict between Ukraine's political and military leadership.
