The international beauty pageant Miss Universe 2023 was held in San Salvador. On the evening of 17 November, an exciting stage of this competition took place - the National Costume Contest, during which Angelina Usanova impressed the audience with her image of the Mother's Keeper.

The national costume performance at Miss Universe is always one of the highlights of the show. The contestants represent their countries, showing the audience amazing images that depict the diversity of cultures and creativity.

This is the second year in a row that Ukraine's representatives at Miss Universe have drawn attention to the war in Ukraine. This year's Miss Ukraine Universe chose the theme "Mother's Keepers" for her pageant outfit, dedicating it to Ukrainian mothers and children who are left defenceless against the threat of Russian missiles.

The costume is striking in its complexity and layering. The blue and white shades symbolize a clear sky, while the blue and yellow represent the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The golden elements in the outfit are defined as a symbol of protection. The Ukrainian participant holds a small angel figurine - a symbol of the precious life of every child and the protection that a mother gives to her offspring.

During the broadcast of the National Costume Contest, viewers had the opportunity to vote for the participants through the official app. It is worth noting that last year's victory was won by the representative of Ukraine, Victoria Apanasenko, in the Warrior of Light costume.
