Disney celebrates its centenary: more than five hundred characters are invited to the event
Disney has decided to celebrate its 100th anniversary by releasing a short film called Once Upon a Time in the Studio. The film features 543 characters from 85 of the animation studio's leading projects. Directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Corry, the film features more than 40 popular actors such as: Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jodie Benson, and Jeremy Irons, working on this story.
According to Variety , this short film brings characters from different stories to life and takes them on a journey through the corridors of the studio where they were created. Looking at the walls of the building where they were created, the characters decide to come together to create a joint portrait in honour of Disney's 100th anniversary.
The film's uniqueness lies in the fact that most of the characters were hand-drawn, while the rest of the material was recreated using computer graphics. According to the creators, each character looks as if they have just come off the screen. Once Upon a Time in the Studio is about 9 minutes long, and the film's trailer can be found on YouTube.
