Ukraine's economy is going through a difficult period due to the military conflict. The government is forced to save money and allocate funds to meet the emergency situation. In this context, the government is considering cancelling scholarships for some Ukrainian students. Other students can expect an increase in the amount of their scholarships.

Since the outbreak of the war, many Ukrainians, including students, have emigrated abroad. Those who continue their studies remotely at Ukrainian universities still receive scholarships. However, according to the Ministry of Education, there are plans to stop awarding scholarships to Ukrainian refugees.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vinnytsky expressed the opinion that the state should not pay scholarships to those who have left the country. Instead, the possibility of increasing scholarships for those who continue their studies in Ukraine is being considered. However, the specific amount of the increase in scholarships is still unknown.

"We should not provide scholarships to those who are abroad. This will save money for those who stay in Ukraine and contribute to the development of the state by replenishing the scholarship fund," said Mykhailo Vinnytskyi.

Despite this, students abroad will be able to continue their studies at Ukrainian universities, but at their own expense.

We remind you that Ukraine is also considering an initiative to introduce mandatory employment for students receiving state-funded education. According to this plan, students will have to work in their field of study for at least three years before being able to change their profession of choice.
