New logistics centres: Terwin Corporation starts construction in different regions of Ukraine
Terwin Corporation is planning to build logistics centres with a total area of about 1 million m2 in four regions of Ukraine. The first logistics centre of 200,000 m2 is already under construction in Odesa region and is scheduled for completion in 2024. The centres in Lviv, Kyiv and Dnipro regions are due to be completed by 2028.
In his Facebook post, Ruslan Shostak, co-owner of Terwin, notes that the shortage of warehouses in Kyiv region and across the country is 500,000 m2, and this problem was exacerbated during the war, when enemies deliberately destroyed warehouses to create a food crisis.
Terwin has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Investment Promotion Office (Ukraine Invest) to implement the project in accordance with the law on investments. The expected value of the investment is between $500 million and $1 billion. Ukraine Invest will provide support in the preparation and implementation of the project, including advice on documentation and meetings with local authorities.
The investment law also provides investors with state support in the form of tax benefits, land rights and infrastructure benefits.
Ruslan Shostak previously noted that the logistics centres will be aimed at supporting online retail, as well as serving the Eva and Varus store chains and courier delivery. The logistics hub project envisages the use of renewable energy sources, a full cycle of waste recycling and disposal, as well as a comprehensive infrastructure.
Terwin Corporation, which unites 17 companies, was established at the end of October on the basis of the enterprises of Dnipro businessmen Ruslan Shostak and Valeriy Kiptyk, who are co-owners of the Eva and Varus chains. The corporation employs 30,000 people and has total assets of $1.6 billion.
