Rare birth of twin baby elephants in Samburu Reserve

In the Samburu Nature Reserve in northern Kenya, a rare and exciting event has taken place: the birth of twin baby elephants, both female,Their mother, named Alto, delivered her babies, bringing double joy to the reserve. This birth is remarkable because twins only account for about 1% of all elephant births.

Save the Elephants, the organisation responsible for protecting these magnificent animals, welcomed the event by sharing a video showing the two cubs being suckled by their mother in the middle of the herd. Elephants, symbols of grandeur and power, are at risk from poaching and the destruction of their habitats, reports ABC News. 

Kenya's current elephant population stands at more than 36,000, a significant increase from the 2014 census, but the news brings a note of optimism in the fight to conserve these threatened animals.
