Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja Launches 'Houses with Heat' Campaign for Needy Families
Burduja emphasized the significance of collecting wood to aid those who rely on it for heating their homes
On Saturday, Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja launched the "Houses with Heat" campaign as part of the Partnership to Combat Energy Poverty. According to a press release issued to AGERPRES, officials from the Ministry of Energy and the Intelligent Energy Association have prepared the first bundles of wood in the Doftana Valley that will be donated to needy families heating with firewood.
Burduja emphasized the significance of collecting wood to aid those who rely on it for heating their homes. The campaign aims to help underprivileged families, including Bucharest, where many homes lack gas access and residents struggle to obtain necessary firewood.
In collaboration with the Intelligent Energy Association and supported by the Red Cross, the authorities have found a way to collect the necessary wood from marked trees, which had to be cut down anyway to ensure the health of the forest. The Minister highlighted how crucial it is to bring warmth not only to homes but also to the souls of those in dire need. The campaign proceeds in Teșila village, Valea Doftanei commune, utilizing only marked and degraded trees slated for removal.
The project "Houses with Heat" is part of the Partnership for Combating Energy Poverty between the Ministry of Energy and the Intelligent Energy Association.
