The virtual museum "War Up Close": the reality of Ukrainian struggle

An exhibition of the virtual museum "War at Close Quarters" in Jakarta

For the first time in Southeast Asia, an exhibition of the virtual museum took place within the premises of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta. Ambassador of Ukraine to Indonesia, Vasyl Hamianin, shared this information on Facebook .

The diplomat emphasised that the exhibition, based on real stories of Ukrainians, portrayed the Ukrainian people's resistance against Russian occupiers. Discussions also took place regarding the importance of a unified global voice and the courage of governments to call things by their names, particularly in defining war as war, an aggressor as an aggressor, and Russian actions against Ukrainians as genocide.

Hamianin also informed that this event marks the beginning of a series of upcoming exhibitions planned to be held in other countries in the region, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on August 17, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Indonesia, Arif Muhammad Basalam. The Head of State expressed gratitude for the support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, citing the visit of the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to Ukraine in June 2022 as a manifestation of this support.
