Hope for upcoming APEC summit
Leaders from the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum will meet in San Francisco this month for the 30th APEC summit , the first hosted by the United States since 2011.
The summit which will last from November 11 to November 17, will focus particularly on discussions surrounding trade, the supply chain for vaccines, resuming travel, economic structural reform, and promoting indigenous economy .
Alongside this, the CEO summit will be held from November 14-16 , as well as an economic leader meeting on November 18. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to deliver a speech outlining the White House’s Economic agenda.
In the following days, more attention will be focused on the two major world leaders: Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden, believing that the upcoming summit is likely to open the window of opportunity for U.S.-China relations , recognising their mutual need for one another.
Previous APEC summits have been widely regarded as a success. The continued progress for new initiatives to further economic policies and their deliverance remains a hopeful one.
