The car market in Romania is going through a period of significant growth. New car registrations showed an impressive 14.7% growth in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period in 2022, reaching a record 121,404 units.
Preported data provided by the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM), Dacia dominates the market:
The ranking by brand reveals that Dacia remains firmly in first place, with 39,072 units registered in the January-October period. Renault, Toyota, Skoda, and Volkswagen follow at the top of Romanian motorists' preferences, reflecting the diversity and attractiveness of the car offer on the local market.
Continued growth in October:
October brought a continuation of the upward trend, with new car registrations up 8.08% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching a total of 11,393 units.
Second-hand cars on the rise:
The used car segment also saw a significant increase in October 2023, with 29,112 units registered for the first time, representing an increase of 10.3% compared to October 2022.
Encouraging outlook for the car market:
In addition to these impressive figures, ACAROM highlights that 271,104 used cars were registered for the first time in Romania in the first ten months of this year, up 1% compared to the same period in 2022. These data indicate a continued increase in Romanians' appetite for vehicle purchases, strengthening Romania's position on the European car market map.
