The Russian Navy is becoming more active in the Azov Sea: "no panic"
At the beginning of October Russian occupiers have once again brought missile-carrying ships of the "Kalibr" type into the Azov Sea. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a briefing. According to him, the situation in the Black Sea remains tense but under control. In the Azov Sea, there are up to five Russian military ships, including one combat ship and two missile carriers capable of launching up to eight missiles.
Pletenchuk is not prepared to explain the reasons for these changes but noted that Russian forces are attempting to periodically move these units between ports. This pertains to two ports in temporarily occupied Crimea - Feodosia and Sevastopol, as well as the Novorossiysk port in Russia. According to Pletenchuk, Russian ships are kept as far away from Sevastopol as possible due to the lack of normal security levels. Meanwhile, the occupiers' missile carriers are forced to periodically enter this occupied Ukrainian port, as it is the only place where "Kalibr" missiles can be loaded. The rest of the ships are kept closer to Novorossiysk, the spokesperson added.
After a week of "relaxation," the adversary has once again strengthened the security of the Kerch Bridge. Occupants have "covered" the maritime approaches to the bridge with ten boats and other means.
It's worth mentioning that the Kerch (Crimean) Bridge plays a key logistical role between the Russian Federation and the occupied Crimea and systematically becomes a target for attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leading to damage to its structure. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, emphasised that strikes on the Crimean Bridge will continue regularly.
