Macron expressed concern about the rise of Islamic terrorism in European countries
During his visit to Tirana, the capital of Albania, President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated: "We saw it again yesterday in Brussels. All European countries are vulnerable, and we are indeed witnessing a surge in Islamic terrorism." He also expressed support for Belgium, which recently experienced a terrorist attack, saying, "We confirm our solidarity with our Belgian friends," as reported by Reuters
On October 16, in Brussels, a shooting took place, which was an Islamic terrorist act. The attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" and was a supporter of ISIS. Two of the victims were Swedish football fans, and it appears that the attacker specifically targeted them. Early in the morning, the suspected terrorist was arrested in one of the districts of the Belgian capital. He was seriously injured during the arrest and died in the hospital a few hours later.
The Prime Minister of Sweden, after a conversation with the Belgian Prime Minister, speculated that the terrorist attack was directed "against Sweden and its citizens."
